Inclusion
"Our basic theoretical approach is to value differences and to bring out as much potential as we can. Each of us is different, this is considered positive. We believe that in this way, the child develops a cognitive sense of and true knowledge about differences and constructs a self concept based on knowing oneself and others. This is all built on relationships with others. This leads to more authentic relationships with their peers as well as adults." - Ivana Soncini
Peachtree Presbyterian Preschool is a program for children of all abilities. Peachtree supports inclusion because we support the rights of all children, regardless of their abilities, to actively participate in natural settings within their communities. We believe this type of learning is most effective for both typical learning children and children with special rights.
Each year the Preschool offers spaces in regular classrooms for children with disabilities and special rights. These children participate fully in an inclusive classroom with support from Inclusion Teachers.
Through their experience at the Preschool, children not only learn to respect and value the differences among people but to celebrate each individual's gifts and strengths. Our goal for all children is to emphasize the value of differences rather than the stigma associated with disability.

The Preschool hosts an annual Gala, Springtime at Peachtree, to support the Inclusion Program. The event will be held on March 22, 2024 from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. Details about the event and sponsorship opportunities will be available soon.
”A school needs to be a place for all children, not based on the idea that they are all the same, but that they are all different.” - Loris Malaguzzi
