Support Resources

Occupational Therapy

The Preschool resource staff includes an occupational therapist who provides routine screenings and small group therapy during the school day. Screenings focus on visual perception, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and gross motor skills. All children in the Five/Six classes are screened; children in the Pre-K, Three-year-old, and Two-year-old classes are screened upon referral. If an area of difficulty is identified during screening, small group therapy that focuses on that area may be recommended.

Stacy Jacobson Heyman, MS, OTR/L and founder of Peachtree Occupational Therapy, serves as the Preschool’s occupational therapist. She is also available on a private client basis for occupational therapy evaluations and individual therapy. Please contact Stacy directly for additional program and fee information at sheyman@peachtreepresbyterianpreschool.org.

Speech Therapy

The Preschool’s staff speech and language pathologist conducts routine screenings in speech, language, and hearing for all students in the Pre-K and Five/Six classes and for younger students upon referral. This practice reflects our experience that early intervention, when appropriate, can help a child successfully develop speech, language, and communication skills.

Dr. Indy Soos Cesari, SLPD, who serves on the Preschool staff, is also available to provide comprehensive evaluations and individual therapy on a private client basis. Dr. Cesari holds degrees from Boston University and Nova Southeastern University and is licensed in Georgia and Florida.  She also holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence and serves as a adjunct professor in the graduate program at Oglethorpe University.
