Peachtree Pals is the Preschool's early morning drop-off that is led by Peachtree faculty. Peachtree Pals is held daily from 7:45 - 8:45 a.m. and pre-registration is required. Peachtree Pals begins January 4.

Peachtree Afterschool

The Preschool offers afterschool opportunities, staffed by Peachtree faculty, for children in the Two-years-old through Five/Six programs. Pick-up is at 1:15 p.m. in the Family Commons car-line. Session Two: Week of January 8 - Week of May 13. *Afterschool Classes for Extended Pre-K and Five/Six are available only Thursday and Friday.

Cooking up a Story: Research tells us that reading to children builds vocabulary, social skills, imagination, and a love for reading. In addition, cooking promotes problem-solving, listening, and following a sequence while encouraging healthy eating. Each week the children will focus on a unique book and cook up something delicious connected to the book's theme. It's a tasty combination! Offered on Monday and Thursday. (Children in Three-year-old, Pre-K, and Five/Six program)

Create - Exploring the Masters: Monet, Picasso, Van Gough, did you ever have a favorite artist growing up? Children will encounter different artists each week and explore a variety of painting styles and mediums. Children will learn about the vast diversity found in artistic expression worldwide. The class will encourage children to observe, describe, analyze, and interpret. Offered Thursday. (Children in Two-year-old and Three-year-old program)

Creative Movement through Dance: We got rhythm, how about you?  Children love to dance and move their bodies.  The children will put movement to music and chants, focusing on exploring personal expression, agility, rhythm, memory, and teamwork. Offered on Tuesday. (Children in Three-year-old and Pre-K)

Experiences with Clay: Clay is a beautiful material - natural, tactile, and versatile. Humans used clay throughout history in creative and practical forms. Each week the children will explore the many stages of clay, experiencing transformation while building an understanding of clay's scientific and artistic potential. Offered on Monday and Friday. (Children in Two-year-old, Three-year-old, and Pre-K program)

Fundamentals: This class will concentrate on building up basic literacy using the Orton-Gillingham (OG) method. OG is a direct, multi-sensory, cognitive and cumulative approach.  Utilizing activities, such as games, stories and songs, children will be exposed to foundational skills like letter ID, rhyming, sound matching, patterns, 1:1 correspondence, sequencing and ordering. FUNdamentals will be offered as a morning session for Five/Six children only on Tuesdays at 7:45 a.m. and Friday afternoon session for children in Three-year-old and Pre-K program. 

Great Outdoors: Children enjoy the Outdoor Classroom where they will encounter everything nature has to offer. Children will experience working in the garden, “cooking” in the Mud Kitchen, sketching the environment, searching for bugs and caring for the chickens. Offered on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. (Children in Three-year-old, Pre-K, and Five/Six program)

How Does Your Garden Grow: Join us in the interactive playground- the garden! Research shows that opportunities to dig in the dirt and immerse ourselves in nature are among the best ways to learn. Gardening engages all the senses, encourages healthy eating, and strengthens emotional and interpersonal skills of empathy, responsibility, patience, and perseverance. Together we will plant a garden, learn about seeds and growth, and much more! Offered on Wednesday and Thursday. (Children in Two-year-old, Three-year-old, and Pre-K program)

Mindful Movement: Let’s get moving! Mindful Movement offers opportunities to develop a strong connection between the mind and body. The practice is designed to develop focus, physical coordination, and balance energy. One goal is to bring strength and flexibility to ourselves, physically, cognitively, and emotionally. Offered on Tuesday. (Children in Two-year-old and Three-year-old program)

Movement and Music: Are you ready for it? The children will use songs, instruments, and dramatic play materials to get their bodies moving, tell stories, and learn different musical terms along the way. Combining music and movement allows children to explore self-expression, language, fine and gross motor skills, and learn new concepts in a fun and engaging way. Offered on Monday. (Children in Two-year-old and Three-year-old program)

Nature Navigators:  Calling all Explorers! Discover bugs, their habitats, plants, and all that nature offers.  Fostering the innate curiosity and wonder that children possess, the natural environment will be used as a place for real-life, sensory experiences and discoveries. Offered Tuesday. (Three-year-old and Pre-K)

Purposeful Play: ALL play has a purpose for children. All play is purposeful and meaningful for the joy-filled intellectual and social development of children. Purposeful Play will spend most days playing outside (weather permitting). This program is designed with thoughtful encounters, in a variety of play environments, that recognize and support negotiation, problem-solving, building empathy, and developing a growth mindset. Offered on Monday and Friday. (Children in Two-year-old and Three-year-old program)

Social Detectives: This class is designed to help children develop confident social skills. The class focuses on age-appropriate concepts including sharing, turn taking, problem solving and creating play schemes together with peers. The instructors are inclusion faculty. Offered on Wednesday (Children in Three-year-old program only) and Thursday. (Children in Pre-K and Five/Six program)

Spanish: Learning a language is fun! Speaking and understanding more than one language can open opportunities, boost brain function, encourage empathy, and support literacy development. This class offers a multi-sensory approach with interactive songs, movement, creative activities, and hands-on experiences. Offered on Monday Friday. (Children in Three-year-old, Pre-K, and Five/Six program)

Storytelling Lab: Very young children love hearing, acting out, adjusting, and connecting to stories. This session highlights the oral re-telling of traditional tales, modeled by caring storytellers in the Preschool. It offers children practice in speaking, listening, and comprehension while emphasizing oral language over the reading and writing of stories. Offered on Tuesday. (Children in Two-year-old program)

Tinkering: This class takes place in an outside studio where children and their friends gather and create.The session supports cognitive learning, negotiating, playing, confidence-building, language development, and creating. Designed encounters with simple machines such as levers, pulleys, wheel and axle, inclined plane, and wedge provide children with opportunities to explore the ways humans discovered easier ways to work. Collaboration and discovery are keywords in this fun, hands-on session. Offered on Wednesday. (Children in Three-year-old and Pre-K program)

Young Explorer's Club: Calling all outdoor explorers! Are you curious, active, and full of questions? Then this class is for you! Outdoor explorations invite scientific thinking, collaboration, listening, and social interactions. Exploring anchors children in the natural world and supports the growth of awe and wonder. Offered on Wednesday. (Children in Two-year-old and Three-year-old program)
